Our Founder

Dr. Howard E. Kennedy, DHL
Founder, President & CEO
Following 25 years of experience in the fragrance and flavors industries, Howard Kennedy founded Royal Essence, Ltd. in 1987 and H.K. Enterprises in 1990.  H.K. Enterprises is the first full-service, 100%-minority owned enterprise creating, producing and distributing fragrances and flavors. His creativity has earned five Fragrance Foundation Awards for Fragrance of the Year. With success in creating a fragrance concept for Actor Billy Dee Williams and partnering with Avon to make the fragrance their first ever celebrity endorsed fragrance as well as to introduce the first ever woman’s fragrance endorsed by a black or male celebrity, H.K. Enterprises had a jump start. Undeniable became the biggest spring fragrance launch ever for Avon. Other accomplishments include Avon’s Vanilla Bubble Bath fragrance; Southern Exposure fragrance endorsed by En Vogue’s Terry Ellis; Ulta’s Flirty Floral line; Time Out for Sear’s; Seagram’s Extra and Sunfrost Tea Wine Cooler flavors; Pinnacle’s Country Kitchen Syrup (Log Cabin) flavor; and unique scents for “Cooks for Kids” and “Night of 200 Trees” charity events.
